Andy Watson is the sports information and media relations coordinator with the Western Mustangs. Working in the Department of Sports and Recreation Services at Western for the past three and a half years, Watson has an extensive background in media. Prior to joining Western, Watson was the Director of Communications for the 2006 World Lacrosse Championships in London, Ontario, and worked for two years in both sales and communications with the Toronto Rock semi-professional lacrosse team. Watson also has four years of experience as a writer, desk editor and copy editor at the Ottawa Sun and has freelanced for a variety of clients including the Canadian Press, Ottawa Citizen, National Post, Business London and London City Life. The 29-year-old Victoria, B.C., native lives in London with his fiancée Lori and is a graduate of Carleton University with an honors degree in journalism.

I really enjoyed Andy's presentation, it was very insightful and I learned so much. I think the main point that I took away from this presentation was to know your audience and to work at maintaining connections within the industry. We used the example in class of Conan O'Brien and his recent situation with NBC and being honest and dedicated to his fans, and in coming online this morning I have seen the benefits of this honest and dedication as fans are supporting Conan on various levels....check this out http://www.sirmikeofmitchell.com/imwithcoco/
